The main task is basically never ticked-off only and is moved between sub-section headers i.e. "team name - to-do", in-progress, review..., complete. Review are set as a new subtasks assigned to reviewer ... then review points listed below it as more subtasks with the review number placed using naming convention.

This seems to work pretty well and people don't have to keep spending their time assigning stuff to themselves or each other as we have different in-progress buckets for people in different seating areas or geographies...

There are a few problems with this though...
* Calendars don't show subtasks so we can't take advantage of tracking
* There is no tracking for moving objects between section headers (i.e. this represents completing milestones for us).
* There is no top level summary of how many of the subtasks are completed
* Strictly speaking we way we use/structure top level tasks means it is not a "task" at all but a work product... in our case it was screen i.e. using our convention something like "(2.3.1) My - Payments - Outstanding".
* As mentioned above information security is not the best particularly the modifying/deleting of tasks set by senior reviewer can be annoying.. and sometimes you don't want some people having the ability to tick-off tasks... A proper "protected" work product with numbered reviews would be pretty useful. But this is typically a very minor issue for us so far and the hacked way we are using Asana is delivering massive value for us... we are at least twice as productive compared with before using it. Building what we are building was really hard without Asana... now it feels easy! We are really happy with Asana overall but think it still could be improved a fair bit (particularly where structure is concerned).Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13170434050347268513noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7930131895679624206.post-54758344827308193782014-04-09T02:18:44.525-07:002014-04-09T02:18:44.525-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13170434050347268513noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7930131895679624206.post-7629344160061646532014-02-12T05:04:00.439-08:002014-02-12T05:04:00.439-08:00This is fantastic, Asana is looking more and more ...This is fantastic, Asana is looking more and more like a grown-up bug tracker as well as a killer task/life manager – well done! Asana provide very useful services. I like this service most that all information inside the project cannot be destroyed, closed tasks are placed inside a special storage, easily accessible for anyone, who want to restore them. I like your post. Keep sharing.
Online Project Management Software
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07829484779221931659noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7930131895679624206.post-33557988633957090242013-06-10T08:15:30.035-07:002013-06-10T08:15:30.035-07:00Thanks for posting related to product management a...Thanks for posting related to product management and online collaboration tool. I've checked GTAgenda and it made a nice impression on me, though the service looks usual and can hardly told from dozens of similar products.
I faced also some confusion mastering "goals" and "context" functionality, and I doubt that these features are necessary for project management tool. What's the difference between GTAgenda context and usual tags? And what's the point in "goal" feature? I can simply state the goal in task's description.
My conclusions: usual service for running simple tasks and to do lists.
